Lut is a partner at Tilia Law (before VWEW Advocaten). She holds Licentiate in Laws (Catholic University of Leuven/Louvain 1985) and Master of Laws (UC Berkeley 1986) degrees and is a member of the Brussels Bar.
Lut has been focusing on pension law and discrimination law for more than 25 years. In both areas she counsels and litigates. Lut also entertains frequent contacts with the competent administrations and agencies and is regularly consulted in the context of legislative initiatives.
Lut was previously an associate and a partner with De Bandt van Hecke & Lagae (now Linklaters) (1986-2000), a firm for which she worked in both Brussels and New York, a partner with and co-founder of Claeys & Engels (2001-2006), the secretary-general of the Belgian Association of Pension Institutions (BVPI/ABIP) (2007-2010) and an of counsel with Loyens & Loeff (2010-2015).
Lut teaches in the Pension Law Course of the Catholic University of Leuven/Louvain and in the Master after Master in Social Law program of the Free University of Brussels. She also is the author of numerous publications on pension law and discrimination law and is much in demand as a speaker, both in Belgium and abroad.
Lut is fluent in English, Dutch and French.
